'another' 과 'ther other' [2]

 

Some like baseball, and others like soccer.

 

 

Explanation

 

other는 기본적으로 "다른 (것, 사람)"이라는 의미를 가지고 있습니다. 여기에 특정된 것을 의미할 때는 the 를 붙이고, 복수를 의미할 때는 s를 붙이면 됩니다.

 

＊딱 둘일 때, 하나는 one, 나머지 하나는 the other

＊수가 특정된 그룹에서 하나는 one, 나머지는 the others

＊수가 특정된 그룹에서 일부는 some, 나머지는 the others

＊수가 특정되니 않은 그룹에서 일부는 some, 나머지는 others

＊셋에서 하나는 one, 또 다른 하나는 another, 나머지 하나는 the third

＊전자는 the one, 후자는 the latter

＊~과 ...은 별개이다 : one thing ~ another...
